CANADA CELEBRATES 150TH ANNIVERSARY WITH CAMPAIGN ILLUSTRATING HISTORY OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT

As part of nation-wide celebrations of Canada’s 150th anniversary, the Canadian Transit Heritage Foundation (CTHF), together with the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA), has organised a campaign highlighting the contribution that public transport has made to the country’s development.

The campaign involves artwork and posters – due to be displayed inside and outside bus stops and public transport vehicles – that illustrate the evolution of public transport in Canada. The posters are available from the CTHF website and depict six varieties of transport technology: horse-drawn omnibus, horse-drawn tramway, electric streetcar, motor bus, electric trolley bus and modern bus.
